"used one ..used everyone"the official pic dont show any front video camera...and did anyone notice 'PANEL' written faintly on the phone below the optical pad??Wonder what that is...

Sony Ericsson Z250 Camera Clamshell

Pocket-sized and just 19mm thin, the Sony Ericsson Z250 Camera Clamshell is coming more for its looks than features. Yes it trendy looking but franky the specs are pretty mediocre. It sports a 0.3 megapixel (VGA) camera and the screen is only 1.8" with 65,536 color CSTN and 128 x 160 pixels resolution. The external screen sports an icon display but phone memory is only 10MB. The upside sees "eye-catching metallic patterns" on the 90gms phone. By far the only solace is the 200 pics capacity and the slideshow feature. The Z250 clamshell builds on the story of the recently announced T250 stick or 'candy bar' phone. The smooth front face belies the icon display, hiding it till an incoming call/text lights it up.

Linux Desktop Review

Novell's Shaking Things Up
Many changes have been occurring at Novell over the past couple of weeks, including the naming of a new company president and job cuts for more than 10% of its staff. Novell also has said it will focus its efforts on the two areas the company believes have the most growth potential--Linux and identity. These moves are part of an overall company restructuring that hopes to cut costs and raise profitability in the coming fiscal quarters.
As part of the company's decision to focus more of its work on Linux, Novell also announced that future releases in both the SLES (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server) and Novell Linux Desktop line will feature GNOME as the default desktop environment. For now, KDE will continue to be supported on these product lines, but this announcement does suggest that Novell is moving in the direction of supporting only one desktop environment, a move many distributions have been considering.
Mandriva 2006 Shipping
Mandriva, formerly the Mandrake Linux distribution, announced that Mandriva 2006 now is available. Mandriva is a popular Linux distribution, especially among new Linux users, because it is easy to install and use. New features for the 2006 release include the Kat desktop search tool; support for Centrino mobile technology; Skype, software for making free voice calls over the Internet; an interactive firewall; and an auto-installation server. Mandriva 2006 is available by download or in a box in three versions, including one designed specifically for new Linux users, Discovery/Lx.
Although Mandriva currently is not available pre-installed on a laptop from any major vendors, DesktopLinux.com notes that Mandriva is available on Dell laptops in France. Perhaps the full support of Centrino in the Mandriva 2006 release indicates more laptop vendors will be offering Mandriva as a pre-install option in the future.

Nokia N70 First Impression Review

As I told you previoulsy I just got a new Nokia N70. I have had this smartphone for just a couple of weeks so I guess you could call this a first impression review. I will do more in-depth reviews about features and applications later on. My first overall impression of the N70 IS good. I mean even before I turned it on. You can feel the quality when holding the phone in your hand. Solid and not too much plastic. And I have to say I don´t share the opinion of many other handset reviewers who say light and thin is good. You quite often see reviews that point out the weight factor as important and they say ultra thin or light weight phones are better than heavy ones. I say with quality comes weight! At least I like phones that are compact and not too thin. Naturally they tend to weight some more. Then again I do not carry my phone inside my Lewis jeans. The Nokia N70 weights 126 g.What´s new on the N70Compared to my previous phone, the Nokia 6630 the N70 has the following approvements:- The N70 has the active stanby screen with shortcuts to favorite applicatons- Lens cover for camera- Camera Flash- Bluetooth 2.0- Two cameras (0.3 & 2.0 MP) and you can make video calls- Radio- More internal memory (30 MB vs 10 MB on the 6630)- With the Nokia heaphone adapter you can usestandard (3.5 mm) headphones- Keypads has a backlight- The five-way navipad center buttons is working (unlike the one on the 6630)MemoryThe N70 has 32MB OF free RAM, 21MB of free flash storage and a removable memory card.New User InterfaceThe new user interface (active idle/active stanby) with the shortcuts to your favorite applications improves usability. I still haven´t discovered were you can add and remove the shortcuts. No hurry, there IS a lot of interesting features still undiscovered.RadioThe radio was a new discovery for me and if I now had to choose between a radio and a MP3 player on my phone I would propably go for the radio. I also bought the headphone adapter AD-15 (15 euros / 20 $) and listen tothe radio every morning on the way to work via my Koss Plug headset (the only ones that fit my ears!).MP3 Player And MusicThe basic N70 music player plays MP3 and (unprotected) AAC-formatted files. If you want to replace your iPod with the phone you should look into some third party player like OggPlay or WMAPlus. The phone comes with stereo headsets. The N70 CameraThe main difference between the new N70 and my older 6630 camera (or Nokia 6680/6681 camera) is propably:- 2 MP instead OF 1.3 megapixel- The N70 has extra camera settings- N70 has anti-red eye - N70 has a sliding lens cover- N70 has better video resolution, 352 x 288 pixels instead OF 176 x 144 pixelsHere is some pictures taken with the N70.N70 ScreenThe 262K color display is bright and clear with its 176 x 208 pixels. I also appreciate the adjustable brightness.MoreThis candybar smartphone is a 3G WCDMA/GSM phone!I Say: Very good smartphone! The radio is great and is a feature I will look for on my next phone also. Biggest con IS the new OS that doesn´t support older software. The keyboard IS quite small and maybe not suitable for people with big fingers, older people or alcoholics! Same thing for removing the memory card - you have to have small fingers.

The Nokia N93 is the ultimate media smartphone

I have a Nokia N90 smartphone that I actually use as my mobile digital camera and camcorder. While I think the device serves as an extremely good multimedia device, the lack of vibration mode keeps me from using it as a daily phone. I have had my eye on the Nokia N93 since it was announced and now that All About Symbian has the device in their hands I am even more excited about the device.
The Nokia N93 is a flip phone similar to the N90 with a slightly different flip mode for landscape usage of applications other than just the camera and gallery. Specs of the N93 include a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and even 3x optical zoom, GSM/EDGE/WCDMA, 802.11b/g WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.0 radios, standard miniSD storage card implementation and TV out functionality. All of this runs in Symbian OS 9.1 with the S60 3rd Edition software so you get all the great web browsing functionality and more. This baby has everything I could find in a S60 device, except for an integrated hard drive.
BTW, I understand from reading forums that this has vibration mode so it looks like I’ll be on the hunt for this incredible device to replace the N90.

Nokia Aeon Wants to Be Touched

The Nokia Aeon has a similar design to the Synaptics Onyx. The concept phone will feature a full surface touch screen display that replaces the traditional keypad. Its unique design gives this concept phone an extremely sleek and sexy look. Nokia should use some perfected material that doesn’t leave fingerprints on Aeon’s touch screen display; otherwise, you will probably spend half your time wiping it. Two more pictures after the jump!
